Sometimes you just can’t get by without the help of a great team

Well, I just finished with the fourth issue of the B&M. I’ve been going at this Editor-in-Chief thing for about a month now, and I have to say that it’s not that bad. Yeah, it has its ups and downs, as does any leading position. However, it has wonderful rewards that come along with the stresses.

I learned something today as I was chugging away, trying to put the fourth issue “to bed” (sorry, please excuse my journalist talk – putting a paper “to bed” means to finish it all up and submit it to the publisher – meaning you’re done!) I realized that without my wonderful team of hard-working editors, that this newspaper that I work so hard for, wouldn’t even exist. I realized that sometimes you just can’t get by without the help of a great team. That is something, not just working for the B&M, but attending college, has taught me. Sometimes you can’t tackle all of your work and duties by yourself. Sometimes you might just need a helping hand – and trust me, it’s not a bad or demeaning thing to do, like I previously believed.

Now I cherish the fact I have the opportunity to work in groups on class projects and on a team for the B&M, because sometimes, one mind just isn’t enough.
