A Sticker on my Paper

I am currently in Math 120: Math for Elementary School Teachers, even though I am not an Education major.

My math professor was passing back our exams from Chapter 3, which was over algorithms and such, which is what the class needs to know so the children of the future can be well-educated as we have been at the elementary level. Upon receiving my exam, I was surprised to find a sticker at the top next to a perfectly drawn smiley face and the grade that said “97% A.” I was happy to see that I had mastered the exam over algorithms, but even more pleased to have a sticker as a small reward for my efforts.

It took me back to the days of my childhood, when getting stickers made me happy for hours-on-end. What simple pleasures we so quickly overlook now.

Yes, I am proud to say I received a sticker on my math midterm. However, I’m even happier that I have such a fun math professor. It’s hard to find a math professor with such a fun personality – but I guess I lucked out.
