A Rainy, Silent Campus

The past week has been spent trying to settle into my small New Concord apartment, get some hours in working for Admissions, and deal with my bout with the flu (yes, I got the flu in May). Not to mention, trying to stay dry while walking to and from campus daily. Muskingum is usually a silent campus when it’s sunny, but any sparse signs of life vanish when the raindrops begin to fall. I must say, Muskingum seems like a ghost town right now.

Even though silence dominates the outside, however, life is alive and well, hustling and bustling within the walls of Montgomery Hall. Admissions employees are working tediously like ants on getting everything completed for the new students entering as first-years this fall. This is the buzzing colony of Muskingum, moved and compacted into one space for the summer.

The forecast is predicting more rain for this weekend, unfortunately. But as the weather begins to shape up for summer fun, I will report back, giving you the latest on Muskingum and the silence that remains.
