Choosing a major is always a difficult and typically stressful decision for college students.  A lot of it has to do with your interests, but I think some of it also comes from the department at Muskingum and the professors that you’ll be dealing with for four years.

As an incoming freshman, I had already decided that I wanted to follow the Pre-Medicine track, majoring in Molecular Biology. With the help of my adviser, I decided to pick up a Chemistry major as well. As an LAE credit (the required classes you have to take), I took a Spanish class my first semester, just to get it out of the way. However, although I’m not too great at Spanish, I loved my professor. I thought she was a great teacher. Because of that, I decided to pick up a Spanish minor as well. I was surprised that a professor would have so much influence on my decision, but I’ve realized that even a terrible class can be enjoyed with a great professor.
