This part of the semester seems to attract exams, projects, and papers from every professor. Right now in classical physics I am working on a “Myth Busters” project. My partner and I have to choose a scene out of a movie and prove whether it is actually possible or not. My partner and I chose the bus jump scene form the movie “Speed.” A commercial bus at about 35 feet long traveling at 67 mph somehow manages to clear a 50 foot gap in the freeway, without a ramp. Although entertaining to watch , we found that the bus actually would have had to have been going 533 mph in order to make the jump! Good thing it’s just a movie!
