Sometimes college isn’t about college…

College teaches you more than what is found in books. It teaches you how to keep more than one iron in the fire. It teaches you how to balance life and work – all while still having fun. It teaches you that life isn’t always fair, but when it is, it’s amazing. I seemed to have learned all of this in just a few days…

Finally, after almost four years of very hard work and more stress than ever imagined, I got a job – a real job – where I can use my major every single day. I’m the Lead Marketer and a Circuit Coach at Curves North in Zanesville, and although it will be a lot of work, it’s everything I could have wished for upon exiting Muskingum. And all I have to thank, besides myself for working so hard, is Muskingum. Not to mention my journalism professor who has worked with me since I was a senior in High School, Dr. Vivian Wagner. With all of the expertise and skills she has taught me, I was finally able to secure something real (Thank you, Dr. Wagner).

Being where I am now seemed so unreachable when I was a prospective, and I’m sure many who are reading this feel the same way. But I assure you, it is worth the fight, the stress, and the time to finally find yourself in the position I am in now. Good luck – but with Muskingum by your side, I promise you will not need it.
