Is Class Canceled due to Lightning?

Us Muskies were awakened multiple times throughout the night due to the violent February storms that passed through. The rain was incredibly loud, making it sound like the campus was being hit by a huge waterfall, not to mention all the super-bright flashes of lightning that made going outside seem more than just a bad idea. Upon waking up, after seeing flashes of lightning only separated by seconds, I asked myself if classes could be canceled due to excessive lightning? I mean, isn’t it dangerous to have all us students walking around when one of us could be struck? Alas, I continued to pull on my jeans and pull on a jacket. Maybe it was just wishful thinking of a Muskie who, not only had poor sleep due to the noisy storms, but has not yet experienced a weather-related class cancellation all winter. Spring Break couldn’t be more welcomed.
