First Day of Autumn

It’s the first day of Fall, but if you happen to look out your window you wouldn’t be able to tell, it’s been wet and rainy here and it’s still too early to look at the trees and be able to tell. Fall or Autumn is my favorite season of the year by far, so I am glad it is finally here, after some very up and down hot spells.

I could go on and on about Fall and the weather in Ohio, which seems to be pretty bipolar. I like fall for all the obvious reasons, like how beautiful the leaves are, pumpkins, and the promise of fall fashion. If I may though, I am just going to take a step back and I can not believe how fast time is flying. It seems like it was just yesterday that I got here for Resident assistant training and that was over a month ago. Time is flying here at Muskingum and the seasons are changing, which brings me to my next point. Muskingum has one of the most beautiful campuses in my opinion, no bias of course. What could make a beautiful campus even more beautiful, I would have to say the answer is simple, it lies in the seasons. Fall causes the leaves to change and intensifies the beauty of campus. I will upload a picture as soon as the leaves really start to change.

For now I think I will leave you with some fun Fall facts:

  • Because of its wide verity of trees, the Eastern United States, especially the North Eastern U.S., is one of the best places in the world for viewing fall colors.
  • The leave colors red, yellow & brown are in the leaves all year long & only become exposed when the green chlorophyll disappears in the fall.
  • Fall colors are best when late summer is dry & autumn has bright sunny days & cool nights below 40 °I hope you have a great first day of Autumn!Peace&Love,
