District Day

Hey everyone!
This past Saturday my ASA sisters and I went to our annual District Day, which is just a bunch of activities and workshops to help improve our chapter and ourselves as members of Alpha Sigma Alpha.
It turned out to be a really rewarding experience, and I learned a lot.
The keynote speaker for the event talked about the ResponseAbility project, which dealt with bystander intervention.
He talked about bullying and shared his own past with bullying, then encouraged the audience to text their stories regarding bullying to him, and he’d read/respond to them anonymously.
Some of the stories that he read aloud were heart-breaking. It really opened my eyes to how much of a difference doing something can make. It doesn’t even mean stepping in during the incident, necessarily. His friend simply threw him a party to remind him that he was cared for and that people were proud of him. It’s just a matter of showing someone you care.
Anyway, it’s a really incredible project, and I think you should definitely check it out.
Have a great day!
