Proud to be an Alpha Sig

Hey everyone!
Recently ASA has been a big part of my life and where I’ve committed a lot of my time. I am running for Secretary, so I’ve been thinking a lot about what the sorority means to me and how I can better improve the experience for other members.
I can honestly say I have never been so proud to be a part of something. It’s a really great feeling to know that there are people who always have your back, people you can always hang out with and people who accept you for who you are.
I think every sorority has their ups and downs, and probably fraternities too, but any member would readily tell you that there is something about the bonds of sisterhood/brotherhood that nothing else can measure up to.
I never thought that I would join a sorority. I just wasn’t that type of person, I thought. But what I realized the most by coming to Muskingum is that there isn’t “that type of person.” Our ASA chapter has a variety of people, and they’re not the stereotypical sorority girl you see in movies.
We’re us. We’re unique and we’re silly and we’re committed. And it’s a really beautiful thing, when I take the time to sit down and think about it. We’re all really special and talented women, and that we can unite under one name and one purpose is pretty powerful.
I hope everyone is having a great week.
Kelsey
