There are two …

There are two educations. One should teach us how to make a living and the other how to live.
–John Adams

Tuesday’s are my favorite day of the week this semester. My first class is studying how comedy and gender coincide and work together in works of literature and film, so we are reading and watching romantic comedies. This morning we finished Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and are now moving on to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, two of my favorite authors! My second class is Advanced Creative Writing, focusing on poetry (also a favorite). As President Adams said, education is about more than just making a living, it’s also about enjoying life and learning how to live. What better way to learn to live than to read romantic comedies and write poetry?

Happy learning,
