So much excitement!

Hi everyone!

I had such an amazing weekend that I’m still buzzing with happiness on this sunny Tuesday. I found out Friday that I have been accepted to the University of Denver’s 2013 Publishing Institute in Colorado this summer, proving that hard work and a hands-on education really do pay off! For those of you who are wondering, the University of Denver Publishing Institute is a month-long certificate program for book publishing (my dream job). It’s taught by industry professionals who work at trade, university, textbook, and small independent publishers throughout the country as well as in New York and includes seminars and hands-on training with book manuscripts. They also offer career guidance for as long as you need it throughout and following completion of the program. This is its 38th year and it is probably the best program outside of the Publishing Institute in New York. They only accept 95 students per year from all over the world, including recent graduates and those who may already be working in publishing or a related field. Needless to say, I’m beyond excited to get a chance to work in my dream career field and I’m so thankful for the multitude of opportunities and experience that I was able to get at Muskingum that helped that to happen. And if that wasn’t exciting enough in itself, my boyfriend of six years proposed to me on Saturday! It’s not every weekend that a girl gets two days of pure happiness and good news.

Now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of my hard work and prepare for graduation,
