This past Saturday, I attended a bonfire hosted by New Concord United Methodist Church with a couple of friend just to get off of campus for a little bit. With a monotonous homework routine and the excitement/nerves about Fall Recruitment starting up the next day, I was looking forward to the opportunity to unwind ad de-stress a little. I spent quite a bit of my time in front of the bonfire (when the ashes weren’t stinging my eyes like crazy), relishing in its warmth against my slightly freezing body, reminded of the many nights at summer camp with my co-workers and my kids for the week.
Then, everyone went around the site on the hay ride. This was actually my very first hay ride ever! You don’t exactly see people in the city driving their hay bale wagons to and from work everyday 🙂 anyway, I was pretty excited to get to partake in a new experience. It was actually pretty dark when the ride itself was going on (which would’ve made for a perfect haunted hay ride trail).
All in all, ’twas a nice evening full of fellowship, food, ffire, freedom (temporarily) and friends! Have a great Muskie Monday!!
