Group Studying

It is the last week of classes which can only mean one thing–finals are next week.

It is a known to be a stressful time, but looking on the upside, it also means that the semester is coming to an end and we have all have another 12-18 credit hours under our belts. 20 credits for those who take course overload.

Just like most other college students across the globe i have been frivolously finishing papers and cramming for my exams next week. My Kitchen table is covered in books and this morning when I woke up I realized I was sleeping on notecards that I had made for my Language: Structure and Usage class.

Finals are an individual assessment of the work each student has accumulated and learned throughout the semester. Preparing for them doesn’t have to be such a self tasked goal however.

It has taken me 2 years to realize this, but the best ways I have prepared for exams and finals, have been with my fellow classmates. In three of my courses this semester I have individual study groups. We are simply like minded people who use one another as resources to do well in class.

I benefit so much from studying with others. Helping fellow classmates is a great way to make sure that I know my own material. Also it is nice to have people who can check over my work.

When it comes to studying for finals, or just studying in general, sometimes it is helpful to rely on a group.
