Twas the Night Before Winter Break

Twas the night before break when all around the campus,
Not a student was sleeping, not even the pond ducks.
The coffee and snacks were all by their bed,
In hopes that one more cup would cram last minute information in their heads.
When out of nowhere there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my desk to see what was the matter.
When what to my wondering eyes did appear?
Tons of distractions, more food, and all of my peers!
With family awaiting and the new fallen snow,
I knew in a moment motivation to study—an all time low.
I yelled out the window, at the top of my lungs,
No more bio, no history, no math and no teachers!
No gym class, or practice or long class lectures!
Then in a second I heard my cell phone’s new sound,
I ran over, picked it up and immediately frowned.
Oh how her voice made me wipe off my slack—get rid of distractions and talk me out of a nap.
For it was Santa—my mother—she said, “You better pass,”
If I don’t, she said, “I have everything to dread.”
She spoke not another word, and told me to get to work,
And hung up the phone with a quick little jerk.
I sprang back to my desk and pulled out my notes,
I just sent my friends away.
For after tomorrow I can finally go home!
Happy studying to all and to all a goodnight!

Have a safe and Happy Holiday everyone! I look forward to posting after we get back from break!
