Muskingum’s friendly atmosphere

One of the things that I love the most about Muskingum is its small size.
That may not seem like something that is a big deal, but it makes a difference.
Because of the small size of our campus, it’s impossible to go a day without seeing someone you know, and everyone is really friendly.
We were talking in my sociology class about norms, and it was mentioned that a norm on this campus is making an effort to hold the door open for others. It blows my mind that in some places that common courtesy isn’t something that happens, because everyone here goes out of their way to do it.
I was walking back from class the other day and it was unbearably cold. One of my fellow editors for the B&M saw me and stopped to pick me up so I didn’t have to walk the rest of the way in the cold.
It’s that kind of stuff that you may not realize about Muskingum, and–for me, anyway–it’s that kind of stuff that makes the Muskie experience so different from other college experiences.
And I can truly say that I’m a better person because of it.

Have a great week!
Kelsey
