Snow day #2

Today is the second snow day we’ve had this semester.
I don’t want any prospective students to get the wrong idea, this doesn’t happen often. In fact, I’d venture to say it’s been at least a decade since Muskingum has had two snow days in one semester (but that’s just my assumption).
The point is, snow days at the college level are incredibly rare. In the four years I’ve been here, these two are the only ones we’ve had.
So, you can imagine the excitement when we wake up and see that class is cancelled. It’s like a high school snow day, tenfold.
Snow days in college are celebrated a little differently than in high school, though. Sure, there are still some that go out and sled, and most of us slept in (I’m sure).
There are a LOT of people in the lobby and other areas that are using the day to catch up or get ahead in their classes.
I slept until noon, but the rest of my day is going to be spent working on projects for classes, studying for my exam on Friday and working on my seminar.
College students still love their incredibly rare snow days, but what they do with them changes a little. I guess it has to do with a change in priorities.
Trust me, when you get to your senior year a day off to get yourself back on top of things is a huge blessing.

For those of you who got a snow day, make the most of it–whatever that may include.
