Safety First

Good morning Muskies! Hopefully, everyone had a fabulous weekend 🙂

Today’s post will address judging by the title, the concept and importance of safety. This past weekend, a few of my sorority sisters and I attended a program all about learning the basics of safety hosted by the parents of one of our other sisters (her mom is a nurse/medic and her dad is a firefighter, so we were bound to learn quite a bit). They covered the basics of CPR (I had “Staying Alive” by the BeeGees stuck in my head for the rest of the day as a result), how NOT helping someone could potentially end in tragedy and how to properly use a fire extinguisher (which each of us got to use a practice one!!). It’s actually a bit of bittersweet  irony that we learned about irony because unfortunately, two women in another chapter of my sorority unexpectedly were killed in a car accident over the weekend. I’m a big believer in multiple things working together to teach every one of us valuable and important lessons, and I definitely feel that this weekend was one of those moments. So, as all of you get ready to go on Spring Break mode–if you’re not there already lol–remember to please, please, PLEASE be safe in however you choose to spend these eight and a half days away from the stress of classes and homework and your job or , in my case, preparing for graduation.

Have a wonderful week!

The two sisters that lost their lives this past weekend. Keep the families of Erin Hook and Jennifer Reeder in your thoughts. They will be deeply missed.
