Busy Weekend filled with ‘Lasts’

I had a great time this weekend, even though it was very busy!

I woke up Saturday morning early to go to my initiation ceremony for the music honorary Sigma Alpha Iota, where we initiated thirteen new members. It is great to see the group have new members, especially because I’ve watched SAI grow a lot in my last four years here. It is the last new class I’ll see initiated though, which is strange!

SAI also had our second Reciticale of the year on Saturday at 3pm. We usually do this concert jointly with the men of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. This weekend’s concert was a great mix of individual and small group talent, men’s and women’s pieces, and some combined numbers. It was a wonderful way to showcase students in a completely student organized and run concert. Again though, this was my last recital with the ladies of SAI, so it was bittersweet.

Lastly on Saturday was the SAI/Sinfo formal, which was an absolute blast. After a busy day engaging in very serious endeavors and making music with my friends, it was nice to get dressed up and go to a dance together.

Communities and organizations like SAI and the music department are what have made my experience here at Muskingum memorable and fulfilling. Get involved- you’ll be so glad you did ❤
