First Circle

Here at Muskingum University we have this AWESOME literary magazine called First Circle. This magazine allows students you who enjoy artwork, poetry, stories and so on to submit their own creative works to be published within the magazine. As a student you can also join the editing team. I am a junior editor for the magazine and so far it has been a blast. So here are some reasons you should think about joining or submitting work.

  1. If you submit work to the magazine you’re officially a published writer, artist, whatever. So you can go home and brag to all your friends how cool you are now. Plus if your applying to a graduate school the fact that you have had work published will look fantastic on a resume.
  2. You should also consider joining the editing team, you get to be a part of something that is bigger than yourself. You get to make someone’s dream of becoming a published author or artist come true, and that’s pretty cool. And as an editor you can also submit your own work. Which hello, is awesome. So anyone reading this should definitely consider joining.
  3. A final reason is that you get to spread your messages through your work across campus. There are opportunities to meet all kinds of new people and have new experience. It’s a fun and great opportunity to get involved within Muskingum university in a fun and creative way.

So, even if you’re not and English major or an Art major, but you have a love of writing or artwork you can submit your creativity. Joining the editing team gives you the opportunity to do both so I am encouraging those of you who maybe interested to join and submit. Join or submit work to First Circle, we would love to have you as part of our magazine!
