Childhood Memories and Choir

When I was little I would make up songs constantly, I would sing little songs while wandering around my house about mundane objects. Now, be prepared, I’m about to embarrass myself in order to destroy the writers block that is enveloping my brain. I am about to tell you the lyrics to a song I made up. So some backstory is that there was a stray cat in my neighbor hood, my family all has terrible allergies to anything cute and fluffy, so of course my parents refused to keep the cat, and it was adopted by my neighbors. Now young 10 year old me was heartbroken, and so I wrote this lovely song.

” They took it away (they took it away) I thought it was mine (I thought it was mine) I really want to know, I really want to know, Why… (why?)

When I was young, I found a cat, whom I called my own, but my mom said, I couldn’t keep that cat, so I was alone.

Ohhh They took it away (they took it away) I thought it was mine (I thought it was mine) I really want to know, I really want to know, Whyyyyyyy. “

So what does this have to do with Muskingum? Well, because of my childhood love of music and constant singing, I’ve grown as a dedicated choir member. I am now a part of Muskingums Concert Choir, we practice almost every day, and I love every minute of it. I’m glad to be able to have this choir filled with good friends, and am excited where our fantastic director will take us. Hopefully where ever it is, it’ll be full of music and fun.

Carpe Diem,

Carleigh
