Second Home

As the end of the semester approaches, almost everyone is dreading finals but anxious for winter break. I, being among the majority, also cannot wait to go home and see my family and best friend. But the one thing I did not expect was…. missing school.

Obviously, I can bare to part with the homework, the tests, the papers, and I am so ready to not have to be an adult for three weeks. But I have to admit, part of me is going to miss this place. For the past four to five months I’ve quickly adjusted to Muskie life. I made so many amazing friends and gained one even more amazing boyfriend, both with whom I have terrific memories. So it should come as no surprise that I will miss them all terribly.

Another shocking discovery I’ve made is that I might even miss a few of my classes. Starting next semester, I’ll be in new classes with new professors. So that means, next week might be the last time I get to enjoy the company and bad jokes of some of my favorite professors(shout-out to Dr. Hilton). But finals are going to my head so I’m sure I’ll regain my sanity eventually and realize that missing classes is absolute crazy talk…..

From day one, I had a feeling I belonged here. But now I know for certain, this is the place I am meant to spend my next four years.  I love it here and I think it’s safe to say that Muskingum has officially become my second home and I will definitely miss it. But in the meantime, I have another week to enjoy it and that is exactly what I plan to do. To my fellow Muskies, good luck on finals and don’t die. To everyone else, just don’t die. Peace!
