Muskie March: A Poem

Coldcoldcold

Stumble out of bed

On go the boots, hats, scarves

And three pairs of pants

Cold air, exhale

Another day of learning

White winter hymnals sing of the crunchcrunchcrunch of boots

Into brightly lit hallways and classrooms

Knowledge is gained in the scribbles of words

And the occasional question

Then it’s pack up

And the crunchcrunchcrunch of boots march forward

Left, right, left, right

1,2,3,4 more classes until

Crunchcrunchcrunch back up the hill and to tea and serenity.

Laters,

Noelle
