Do not wait to lift weights at Muskingum

If I could change one thing at my career at Muskingum, it would be hitting the gym more. We have a workout floor in our student center that is completely free and convenient for us, but normally I skipped the workout floor to go directly to café floor. My usual there normally was mozzarella sticks and a coke. Therefore, I decided to do something unusual for me, skip out of the café floor and stick to the workout floor.  For any new gym goer, the first time can be dreadful. Questions running through your head are much like this: Will people judge me? How do you even use these machines? Wow! I sound Bigfoot is running on a treadmill, does anyone notice? (maybe the last one is just me).

Last blog post I talked about the hills providing motivation to work out, but sometimes that motivation does not hold up with all those negative thoughts going through your head. Thankfully, I found motivation from fellow muskies! I even get support outside of the gym, with words of support and encouragement. I have experienced many things at Muskingum and always felt support doing all those things. In fact, I thought I might have experienced it all as a senior but little did I know that there is always something new to experience here. The great thing about these experiences is that there is always support when it comes to these experiences. This support comes from all aspects of Muskingum such as career services, academic help, club support and what I recently learned from fellow muskies in being healthy.

It looks like you can teach an old Muskie, new tricks!

Until Next time,
