Small Campus, Large Opportunites

So recently I’ve been on a job hunt and I was discussing with a friend my upcoming venture into town for said hunt. I figured I’d apply for the local food places like Subway and Creno’s and maybe Riesbeck’s. But at the same I time I was worried that these places wouldn’t be able to accommodate my class schedule. That’s when my friend asked me if I had asked around campus for an on-campus job. At first I said no because I hadn’t seen anything in the Student Digest where I assumed all job openings were posted. She then went on to explain that there were plenty of jobs available to me. I just had to know where to look and who to ask. “Any offices.” she said, “The Business office, the financial aid office, secretary offices, the post office…” Essentially any places you see students working are possible options. But don’t just wait and expect a job to just fall into your lap. Ask around. Ask faculty or ask your friends on campus that have jobs. There are plenty of opportunities out there for everyone and on a small campus where the whole community is interconnected, there’s also plenty of people to help you on your quest for cash. As of now I am waiting to hear back about a job that works perfectly for my schedule and it’s all thanks to the help of my fellow Muskies. Peace.
